I like to think that the Elder Guardian is a mini boss
Many other mobs can be considered mini bosses such as the Evoker and Piglin Brute
I very much hate it when people considered the Warden a boss
The Warden isn't supposed to be a boss. It is a punishment, a force of nature that was created because you wanted to be reckless and now you pay a price for not being quiet in the Deep Dark
Edit: I just remembered something that the Warden's creator, Kingbdogz, once said.
The Warden is not meant to be killed. It's a natural disaster. Think of it this way. When you see a tornado, you wouldn't just run up to it and start attacking it with a sword. You would start to run in the opposite direction as to escape it. That is what the Warden basically is. A tornado. A force of nature. Natural disaster.
Edit #2: I find it funny some people call the Warden a mini boss but it has more than double the health of the Ender Dragon. The Ender Dragon being an actual boss.

I only consider battles with boss bars to be bosses. This is why I consider raids as bosses too

Give us a proper dungeon. Something like a stronghold or mineshaft, but a proper dungeon. Some of the random rooms should have pressure plate or trip wire traps. There should be loot chests, maybe add a mimic so some chests attack.
At the end, the boss could be a chimera, a giant, a beholder, anything. If the dungeon is a goblin den, make it a goblin king. If it is an underground crypt, make it a lich.
I want something different from the same mineshafts and strongholds we've had for 10+ years (beta 1.8 and release 0.9)

I think that they will be thinking very hard on this. They have to think "Will this boss fit in Minecraft?" And "How will this boss benefit the player?" I believe that this update may not have a boss but it is possible they are planning for the very next update. Though we don't know how long they've been planning to add a new boss and this could just be a way to hype us for the new update. It may be that they are completely trolling us. I mean April Fools is coming up and if I'm not mistaken they add April fools updates every year? Could be a boss but.. not what we think.

Minecraft posted a short about the red dragon reigning down fire on villages, but only kept the short for 10 days before taking it down. So whoever saw this is lucky and also said that they will add it for the upcoming update

do not let the community choose the next boss. id rather just have mojang add a new boss and everyone enjoys it rather than have the community vote and be disappointed on what was chosen

I have actually been thinking about a possible new boss to Minecraft, because like we have a Nether and an Ender boss but there's none Overworld themed one. Plus it would be amazing if Mojang implemented some boss music to the game 🗿

The Cobble stone giant, killing it rewards nothing it's very strong and has no other features at all making it pointless
