Reduced height restrictions is becoming more and more common on newer rides due to modern safety equipment. One unexpected recent example is Hyperia at Thorpe Park which opened this year has a height requirement of only 130cm (10cm less than all their other thrill coasters) which is impressive given it's 236ft drop and 81mph top speed that completely blows away anything else at the park.
