Показать описание
Event Description: Growing the next generation of sustainable designers.
How Irish Organization Junk Kouture has been empowering young creatives to express their talent by using materials exclusively from the landfill.
Junk Kouture’s design contest is open to young creatives 13-18 who are challenged to apply their creative skills to produce a high design outfit utilising only recycled materials.
Former contestant Katie Brill, who won a prize in 2016, with a gown entirely made of orange peels, will engage a conversation with NY based fashion designer Layana Aguilar about the importance of educating the next generations about upcycling and recycling and finding beauty and art in everyday junk.
Katie will also showcase some of the most impressive designs that she has seen in the competition throughout the years and the inspiring stories behind them.
