In this video, at first both the Kirchhoff's rules, namely Junction rule and Voltage rule, have been explained. Then the technique to divide the current at Junctions have been explained. In the end, Series and Parallel resistances equations were used, where ever required to find the equivalent resistance.

Question :Calculate the equivalent resistance of the circuit shown

Rules :
Junction or Current loop : At any junction, the sum of currents entering the junction is equal to sum of currents leaving it (Conservation of Electric charge) (I= I1+I2+I3.....)

Loop or Voltage Rule: For any closed loop, the sum of Emf’s is equal to sum of (Current × Resistance) (Conservation of Energy)

Formulas Used:
Resistance in Series : Rs = R1+R2+R3....
Resistance is parallel : 1/Rp = 1/R1 +1/R2.....

Solution :

I = I1+I2+I3 (Current loop rule)

Taking BCD (Series Combination)
Rs1 = RBC + RCD = 50 + 250 = 300Ω

Taking BED and RS1 (parallel combination)
1/Rp1 = 1/Rs1 + 1/RBD+ 1/ RBE
RP1 = 86Ω

Taking ABEF and RP1 (Series Combination)
R(Final) = RP1 + RAB + RFE = 100 +86 + 150
R(Final ) = 336Ω
