Playing Quake for 20 years now, and Im good at it. But I never realyl managed bridge to rail. Watched your video, first try and repeated. And this is not the first video I watched about it, but the first that really explained the thing with the angles and how to exactly start a circle jump. Thanks man

From the many tutorials out there, this one is the best. Straight to the point and with all the overlays, cues and tips, it actually makes sense. I managed to learn to strafe jump and circle jump watching these (after seeing a lot of other sub par tuts which show some moves but don't actually teach). Clearly, I still need a lot of practice, but at least now I know the core stuff. Thanks!

Very quick and to the point with simple steps even I can follow . Doing once at real time and then slowing it down makes it much easier to understand. Great video!

Not really important but still : you don't have to jump to change your mouse direction, you can do it while jumping, before or after, jumping just allows you to keep the speed as mentioned in the video. Really nice videos for beginners !

This needs more views, this is really well explained in a way I didn't process it before.

Although i can already strafe jump, i'd say this is explained very good BUT if still takes a lot of practise (and not 5min if you spread that new players will get frustrated)

U R THE BEST -
I always use like this : 1x strafe left next 1x strafe right without turns, 2xleft 2x right is correct.

Fantastic - exactly what I've been waiting for. I would love to see more guides like this if possible.

I'm holding out for a proper training area in QC much like Quake Live. If it can contain a similar such as showing when to turn and showing that motion in the video, that would be fantastic.

I know we can practice on the maps, but these aren't always clear. If they could add vocal and image requests when to jump, turning the mouse, which direction - it would be such a big help. Maybe it's wishful thinking of my part.

Strafe jumping has been a huge bane for me in this game. It has caused so much frustration particularly because I really didn't know what I was doing whether it was right or wrong. I sought so many guides, videos and advice from so many people and whilst they were useful and pretty well put together, I always seemed to come away with the same issues. The biggest one was that I still wasn't sure what I was doing wrong. I knew I was doing something wrong because what I was doing didn't relate to the professionals. A lot of the time I was told to keep practicing, but the problem I had was that I was practicing the wrong things and I couldn't get the message across to get them to understand that. (I'm not laying the blame fully at their feet, perhaps I wasn't clear enough in asking for what I needed).

The alot this helped me out with my strafe jumping in digital paintball 2 as it runs on the same engine

This is mind boggling that Strafe Jumping is essentially a bug in an earlier version of the game. I'm curious, as a developer, how much effort was put into preserving that bug throughout the game series.

I'd like to know how players can make those abrupt changes of direction in stairs and tight corridors. I always bump in every conceivable object on the map. Very frustrating. This video was great, simple and right on point.

Thx a lot, I did not even know these moves exist...

I didn't know there was a penalty for holding jump! There are times where I don't hold jump because I need to do mini turns on the ground in order to course correct more, buy now I guess it's better to hold right before. Thanks for the video.

Didn't know there was an actual fixated angle where it starts kicking in, i thought it depended from initial speed or direction. Now i know that when it doesn't go up i need to correct more instead of just waiting for it, or that i should watch away from the path so i can start it with a better angle before resetting. As a new player, i saw circle jumping as a direct concequence of strafe jumping learning: i decided to learn strafe first becouse it seemed more useful, but without even trying i found myself circle jumping. I suggest new players to do that.

I'm diamond rank in duel and 2v2 and I didn't know that there was a penalty for holding space. I'm not holding space anyway because it feels more natural to course correct when tapping. But still, wasn't sure if there was a penalty or not.
