HONEY WAKE UP, NEW WORLDS SONG JUST DROPPED

My Fiance would never admit this, but I just got a text from him saying he was SOBBING. I immediately thought there was something very wrong, but I'm glad to know it was because this song released. He has profound sensorineural hearing loss, but keeps coming back to Porter Robinson because it's the only music he can remember hearing back when he could hear. Worlds has been his biggest inspiration. He used to make music, but it's nearly impossible for him to create things now (even with how much I've offered to help him). We get to see Porter next month and he has been looking up all the lyrics to each song so he can sing along and sign it out ❤️ Whenever I see him signing his favorite songs, I fall in love with him all over again. Thank you for releasing this ❤️

The fact he chopped these vocals to make shelter is such a full circle moment. Thank you for this Porter

This is like the perfect Worlds epilogue. It’s like a swan song to this era; a beautiful time in many of our lives that is forever immortalized. I miss Worlds, but I am glad Porter understands how much this album means to us!

A SOUND FOR LONELY PEOPLE IS REAL THANK YOU I LOVE THIS

So many hype comments, but what about the lyrics?
It's about someone questioning their life atop a bridge, their thoughts in the moment: "It might not be so bad to die".
..but something from their life convinces them that belief is a lie worth leaving behind, that life is worth living, and the song becomes almost rapturous, natural sounding, full of depth and beautiful, just like the world
.
I don't know where you were when you wrote this, Porter, but if this song is about your own experience, I'm sorry you had to feel like that at some point. You're an inspiration to us, flaws and all, and your art gives us hope. Thank you for Worlds, Nurture, Virtual Self, Smile, and everything else in between and beyond.
You're a hero, even if you sometimes don't feel like it.

This album saved my life from heroin addiction. Through all my withdrawals and early recovery and forward this album was there. With me side by side. I will have 8 years in 3 months. Hearing this right now is like a reminder of how truly far I’ve come my progress and a reminder of all those I’ve lost. If this album never came out I might have made it through. Hearing this now is like such a gift. I am so fucking blessed to be here. I love you all so much!

Now i know why "a sound for lonely people" never got a release. I would never have guessed that it was actually integrated into "hollowheart" all this time. I love this so much

this one goes to all the porter fans who didn't live long enough to see the release of this. This song may be called Hollowheart but i lsten to it with a heavy one.

I think this is actually my favorite Porter song. Ive heard it dozens of times but it never feels like enough. If the Worlds album is about, well, worlds, then this song is my world. The somewhat depressing, melancholy lyrics, meditative atmosphere, it all simultaneously fills and opens a hole in my heart. I know its kind if a meme, but i genuinely want this played at my funeral.

Just an "interlude" that's the exact length of most pop singles, has a featured artist, a verse chorus structure and an instrumental break, and was the result of quite a few iterations of work.

honestly think its perfect that this was released for the 10 year anniv of the album. if released along with the album it might've gone unnoticed, but now, after years and releases, it just fills us with nostalgia. beautiful track

This song being released ten years later actually helped it so much. It's going to forever be engrained in legend now. The source of the Shelter vocal chops, the fact that it's the true, finished version of "A Sound For Lonely People"... Everything clicked finally. It's a perfect send off to the Worlds era and truly feels like a finale, if that makes sense. It's truly something special. For what you described as an interlude, it's one of my favorite tracks on the album. I adore ambient music in general, and this one really captures the same surreal feeling I felt during the Worlds era, which is very difficult to do after so much time has passed.

Thank you for waiting to release this. It was so, so very worth it.

Thank you, Porter. This album came out when I was in sixth grade. I remember sneaking my phone in to play your album during class. Now I'm a Jr in college, moving 2000 miles away from home next week. This song feels like a bitter sweet goodbye to that chapter of my life. Thank you for everything!
