Prototype Krag Speedloader

This is the first iteration of a speedloader for the Krag Jorgensen.
It's essentially a box with one open end and a spring loaded retaining plate. When squeezed, the retaining plate pivots out of the way, allowing cartridges into the magazine.
I originally made this for the 30-40 US Krag, bending it slightly wider allows the 8x58r for the Danish Krag to fit.
It took 3 takes for the rounds to exit smoothly. The speed loader is sensitive to the angle the rifle is held at as well as how the rounds fit into it.

Fun fact: The prototypes speed load was so advanced that even the laws of gun physics couldn’t handle it therefore the rounds were send into 5th dimension everytime you tried to speed load.

Norwegian Stangskyting sports shooters before they started using Sauer STR 200 rifles used primarily Krag rifles. Since the sport involves "speed shooting, " one would need to reload quickly so they did use a similar kind of spring loaded speedloader like that. With the sport now use detachable magazines, sadly we don't see it anymore.
