The Best Magura Hack

Here's the most common Magura hack - swap out their Royal Blood hydraulic fluid with mineral oil. Especially when you are first learning and need a few attempts to get the job done - this extra fluid will help. Nothing worse than running out of oil when you're bleeding your brakes!

Tasted both and I cannot tell a difference. Both make my turds slide out very nicely.

I just use use compressed air in my brake hoses. I found you dont even need compressed air if you go fast enough the air will find itself into the caliper, I dont even use hoses abmnymore best upgrade yet

I see a lot of people talking about brake fade and boiling temperature in here, He is showing it on a Trials bike which is entirely different from mountain bikes, Never do this on a mountain bike because the boiling point is lower but on a trials bike Go ahead!

Generic mineral oil might not be ideal, but what you CAN use is LHM+ fluid, which is almost certainly what "royal blood" (and all the other expensive brake mineral oils) actually are.

I bought Halfords oil and it has been perfect after a full flush

Dont do that. Except for the name, these two has nothing in common. Starting off with a brake fade temperature, ending at additives to preserve little orings inside.

Rubbing alcohol is way cheaper than vodka I recommend switching especially in these times of uncertainity

I use Finish Line mineral brake fluid. It's worked both in Shimano and Magura for me. Those thinking of warranty issues, you're ignorant.

Royal blood isn’t that expensive. Why risk your brakes and your warranty by buying random mineral oil. Everyone thinks they know better than the company who makes the actual brakes, and their only out to screw over the customers with rip off oil. Mineral oil isn’t regulated like dot so what type of cleaners and other additives contained in them vary massively. I have mt7’s on 2 of my bikes and bleed every 3m and I’ll easily get a year out of the big bottle of royal blood. It’s less than £25 a bottle for a years worth of oil…

For the Magura rim brakes you can also use water, Ali Clarkson used to do this

It’s not like you need liters of the fluid, its just a couple of ml per bleed/fill

All those things we have try before water, baby oil, all kind of mineral oil and what else. 😂 mineral oil still works fine. Water maybe not the good idea.( It may caution your Spring)

should i ride long and brake long all the time untill they not touch anymore ?
manual from mt5 estop says Max thickness 1.8, and they told me storm hc 203 is oke with it, now the pads are rubbing against the rotor, because storm hc is 2 mm thickness..., so i wasted money and time putting them on and line them up was taking alot of time to get them fit oke, but still it's too thick, and need a new rotor... :( i can not fit the brake good, storm hc is too thick. it's braking already when i dont brake. lined them up good. but they still touch the rotor
can i open up the pistons outside? i got a storm hc 203 rotor on my mt5-estop, but they are too thick, brake site says they are oke for them, but no, manual says : max 1.8 thickness rotor.
so now they slip against the rotor, and i not even brake yet. so now i found out storm hc and mt5-estop can not go together !!! stupid stuff, now too late to send back storm hc, now have to get a rotor who is 1.8 mm thickness, were can i get a 203 rotor with 1, 8 thickness ???? anybody ?
