Union Series: Left Labor History and Strategy
Показать описание
Joshua F. of the Political Education Committee puts on a wonderful and meticulously researched introduction to the history of the leftist labor movements in Austin DSA's first 4-part Union series that aims to provide critical political education on the state of unions and the labor movement in Texas.
We'll be focusing on the history of the labor movement dating back to 1901, combing through the histories of the Communist Party (CPUSA, CPUSSR), and talking about parts of the Civil Rights Movements. As socialists, we should use history as a tool to elucidate mass organizing. The ending of this presentation highlights the importance of the rank-and-file strategy and why true revolutionary potential is culminated on the shop floor level.
The Union Series develops a comprehensive understanding of where the labor movement is, where it needs to be, and the vital role unions will play in the struggle to win socialism.
