Mental health for ANYONE is VERY IMPORTANT. For men, it's a sensitive topic and often carries a lot of stigma. HIGHS and LOWS. MY "high" moments are when I'm consistently taking my Meds and enjoy "being" IN MYSELF. The "low" moments are when I allow the NEGATIVE to invade MY thoughts. Typically, I get extremely QUIET. I completely STOP maintenance of ME. But the "highs", ... I actively celebrate who I AM. Moving in confidence. Humility. Peace and awareness.

I wish they would have talked about why black men don’t talk about mental health as a community

Mental health is a real concern even though just a few get to talk about it.

Some people need to understand that indifference is another barrier to getting therapy because of having the impression of hearing I do not care about your depression from family members which hurts deeply.

I am a white woman… studying this issue. I have gathered from the comments that I have read, I have no business doing so. I hope to continue some form of advocacy; I strive on many levels to understand…particularly what my white skin and implicit privilege may represent to a Black male client. I learned more from the comments than the segment.

They should work on teaching black men family values and how to be a father. Unfortunately there is so many kids growing up without there fathers and women having babies with multiple partners I'm sure the word "family has to be confusing and stressful" They need to change the culture of black people and teach them to respect life.

I wonder if less black men use therapy because of extended families. Tho we do need to remove this ‘manly’, phobia of therapy.

Seems more like you are starting a stigma.
Most people haven't heard of this nonsense before.

I ride inner city busses in Los Angeles, so I know why there’s a stigma
