What Is This Giant Glowing Vortex?

If this isn't satellite imagery of a whirlpool, what is it? It's 100 miles across!

It's not really a whirlpool. The glow may indeed be the result of bio-luminescence. But the spiraling is probably caused by something like the interaction of two opposing currents or currents of substantially different temperatures producing in water, an effect similar to the spiraling of a tornado caused by the interaction of different air currents.

I like how they make a whole video about the glowing watertornado and make all kinds of theories what it could be, while they can just take a helicopter or something and fly to it to check out what it acually is :, )

it looks like what i would imagine a volcano that released unusual amounts of gas into the water, combined with the heat generated from the event causing lots of bubbles, the light shift is the result of light entering the water, then entering the gas bubble then being reflected back which makes it appear brighter then the surrounding water.. just a hunch.
