Hi Egipt.
I appreciate that you watch all my videos. It's quite a compliment from one as experienced as yourself.
I started scuba diving in 1958 (58 years ago). I have family photos to prove it.
I hold instructor status in 7 agencies - I have the cards to prove.
I worked at a resort for 2.5 years - 5 dives a day for 6 days a week.
I've owned a large dive shop since 1969.
I have an SSI Platinum Pro 5000 Award. Check their on-line list.
If your diving experience is beyond my imagination then I'm in awe.

Please allow me to explain that I'm NOT trying to teach diving with these videos. That's a very poor evaluation of my intent. As I've said numerous times, I'm simply sharing some ideas and suggestions that I've picked up over the years - ideas that you can use or reject; ideas that might be beneficial and help address some problems, concerns or questions.
It won't hurt my feelings in the least if you stop watching my videos. In fact, it may be a good idea since you apparently don't like them.

BTW, there is a spell-checker and grammar-corrector on your computer. May I respectfully suggest that people will be more likely to accept your ideas if they are presented in an intelligent manner.

Sincerely, Alec

I saw many of your tech tips, I had to say your very first seems to be one of the best, If not the best tech tips.
Don't get me wrong, all the others are awesome too, but all of them had such a high standard, so it's nearly not possible to tell which tech tips are the best, but this one is definiatly at the top ten.

Heck Alec, I'm not even a diver and I enjoyed watching your video. Clear, friendly and to-the-point with none of the annoying soundtracks and unnecessary banter the young'ns use as a substitute for quality content. Keep up the great work.

I have an older steel Dacor tank that I am repurposing for non-scuba use. I removed the regulator and measured the threads to find that it was 1" (not the 3/4" NPS) that I expected to find. I was wondering if you might know which thread standard Dacor used on these tanks back then. Is it NPT, NPS, something else? I don't want to attempt to screw anything onto it for fear of damaging the threads....until I identify the fitting type. Your experience would be appreciated.

Just a thought: could you invert the rubber seal/cap (turn it inside-out) while diving and then just wipe it off and un-invert it prior to putting it back on the regulator at the end of the dive? Or is the rubber too stiff?

First thing I do when someone is asking me for advice I remove the dust cap completly and store it on land in a seperate equipment bag with all the small stuff I need. Then almost all caps can be used as dust caps. Except those which refuse to stay on at all.

Love your channel .you are the most informative person on the web .you explain everything clearly without using too much technical jargon .
I'm Shane from ireland.I was wondering could you give me some more information on tanks.
Im a big guy so I need alot of air .
Would a 19 litre steel tank or twin tank set up be best also How To set up twin can they be added to a normal bcd or do you have to go with back plate.
Could show me the size of a 19ltr so called monster tank

Alec, could you please make a video about boat ladders for scuba diving. I need one that doesn't break when I carry treasures out of the water.

question, I just recently purchased a regulator set that wasn't well taken care of an has light corrosion on some of the metal connections, I plan on getting it properly serviced but is there anything you recommend to do before getting it serviced?

What is the easiest brand to service on my own? Ive owned scuba pro and the charges are can get pretty high. Im looking to purchase some additional gear and would like to service it on my own if possible.

I don't think you explained why you shouldn't turn back the tank valve 1/4 turn after opening it all the way.
