💥 5 Tips to survive your 1st Hot Yoga class 💥

Most people are scared of trying new things because they feel unprepared, or don’t know what to expect.
Here are 5 Tips to help you survive your 1st Hot Yoga class so you can feel confident and prepared.

💧Hydration – it’s important to be hydrated when you come to class. In hot yoga people sweat and can lose a lot of water from the body. It’s important to keep the body hydrated to avoid feeling dizzy and lightheaded. Try drinking at least 1-2L of water the day before you come to yoga (and after class to help replenish and stay hydrated) but avoid chugging it all right before class, you will not feel good!

💥 Electrolytes – Electrolytes are essential for our cells and organs to work properly. When you lack electrolytes, it can cause an imbalance in your body resulting in headaches and fatigue. When you sweat, you lose electrolytes, so it’s important to replenish them to maintain proper function of your body.

🌯 No burritos before class. It just doesn’t feel good when you eat a full meal right before a yoga class. Some yoga postures compress and flush your internal organs and it can make for a very uncomfortable class 💩.

💦 Bring a towel that is large enough for your mat. You are going to sweat. There’s nothing worse than being new to yoga and you’re slipping around. It’s takes away from doing the posture properly and can be very frustrating. When you bring a large enough towel, you’ll have the grip you need to stay put and focus on your postures.

🐮 Don’t worry about what you look like in class. It’s very common to feel self-conscious that you’re doing a posture wrong or feel like people are judging you because you’re not flexible. This couldn’t be further from the truth. If anyone’s looking around, they may be new too and making sure they’re doing the posture right, just like you!

Now that you know these expert tips you can stop feeling unprepared and self-conscious because you know what to expect and you can take your first class feeling like a pro!
