FULL VIDEO:

We have a four inch system set up next to a three inch system, set up on the exact same grade. They're at two percent slope. It's a gravity powered system.

We're simulating what it's like for the water to come off the rooftop down the gutter downspout and hit these underground lines. We're simulating the three inch and the four inch.

Flex pipe I've always had to replace because it collapses. Started using solid never had a problem after that

I got 1 question where did u get 280 gallons per minute? Had to bring fire truck or straight from hydrant? Just Curious

Digging my trench for a 3 inch, this is very informative and glad of my decision.

...back ca 1961/62 my dad buried Pourouswall pipe in a low spot in our back yard to take excess water to the street...worked like a charm and lessened the runoff coming into our basement...

It doesn't matter what you "like" or "prefer" it's about being professional and following the plumbing code in your state/ County. We're 4" minimum once underground no matter what, in my state. If your state allows otherwise then run what works best for the customer

Wouldn't the corregated help trap debris?

Did you fix the leak on the 3inch pipe. Kind regards

So do you still need a catch basin on a 3” line since the pressure would be keeping it shingle debris building up?

When your grades wasn't good enough to become an engineer😂

My 4" is saddle teed into 15" dual wall DOT approved pipe. Drove a bobcat over it with a boulder that weighs more than a car.

4.7 gallons per second? You got that hooked to a hose or a water main?

You can’t control pressure? It’s determined by the height? Also you just said the same thing in 3 different ways, psi, pressure, pound per square inch. Hmmm

Damn. You're impressed with the pounds per square inch and the PSI? That must be really good.

Aggerate from shingles settles in the RIPPLES of flex pipe. Use Smooth PVC and your system will clean itself at proper slope.

Is that the exact same pipe that you would use underground

Is 3” more likely to freeze in the Winter than 4”? I would think bigger with more air space would freeze less.

Good information if your roof never gets any dirt or leaves on it. Like, you know, in fantasy land.

IMHO, if your installing it, most of the cost is labor. Why would you not install the 4"?
A few extra bucks sounds like cheep insurance to not have problems.

250 gallons a minute so 4 gallons a second are coming out of that hose? 😂 Try again sir 210 tops out of a one inch line and that's pushing hard
