I clicked over out of curiousity because I'm an Alaskan (50+ years) and always wonder how our great state is being portrayed, but WOW! I've driven the Alcan hundreds of times, many times in an RV, and you guys NAILED IT! Beautifully filmed, absolutely right on-target, superb advice! And I had to chuckle at "inverted potholes, " that's a new one for me! LOL! Subscriber for sure!

I was born in Fairbanks, my maternal grandparents decided to settle in Alaska after my grandfather had served there during WWII, as best as we can gather from my grandmother, she drove “the highway” 14 times! Her grandmother had moved to Oregon in a covered wagon...wow how much progress in just a few generations! Great channel and thanks for all the info as we research if we want to dabble with RV ownership for short trips.

We drove the Alaskan Highway years ago. Late 70's. Wasn't paved.1500 miles of gravel. Totally destroyed my dad's LTD. Broken windshield. Damaged headlights. Destroyed brake system by the time we got to Anchorage.
Very, very beautiful scenery.
On the way back they closed the "highway" at Laird Hot Springs due to a very wet Spring. The campground filled up fast. There was even a lady baking bread. Someone with a parrot.
And bears were a big problem. Moose too. It was quite a trip.

I've watched many videos on traveling AK. Never got the "campground and gas station guide" tip. Thank you.

Just returned from a camping trip to Alaska- the guides (Alaska Mountain Guides) we were with reserved the "Hey Bear" chant for when there was actually a bear right there (happened fairly frequently), so when walking they would instead shout "Hey Human Here" or something like that.

I lived up there for over 10 years. So glad you mentioned on watching out for Bears. Moose are also animals that can kill you and they roam around even all thru Anchorage. Love yall's videos. We really enjoy them.

My beloved and I had an Alaskan cruise planned to take this year in July to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Keyword being: "HAD". First came COVID, second came husbands cancer, third came husbands stroke in July. Will we ever try to go? Probably not. He can't get around very well now and still remains very fatigued. Plus the financial crisis that took place with the stock market this year. We lost 12 double room for 2 people with a private balcony view cruises worth of money in about a week. So, now we're pretty tight with our expenditures. I'm not angry about it. What does getting angry about it profit me or my husband. It's just the way stuff happens sometimes. This taught both of us to be extremely patient. So, back to your travels and awesome have the way and means, plus superb talent to travel for us. You take us places and show us things we'll never get to experience. Plus the doggos are such a cute bonus.😊 Thank you for sharing your sight seeing and jet setting. It's much appreciated. ❤
