Introduced back in 1993, for the longest time, the C-Class remained the smallest sedan Mercedes-Benz made until the A-Class arrived in 1997. It has been serving as an entry-level product for almost three decades and has been a product that most customers aspire to buy. Though it’s relatively low in Mercedes’ lineup, it’s been at the top of its food chain or, should we say, a class topper.

Watch our in-depth review to know if the C-Class has the charisma to attract customers who are currently focused more on buying SUVs rather than luxury sedans.

Prices begin at INR 55 Lakh and go up to INR 61 Lakh. Available in these three variants:

- C200 - 55 Lakh - powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine (201bhp and 300Nm)
- C220D - 56 Lakh - Powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine (197bhp and 440Nm)
- C300D - 61 Lakh - the same diesel engine but it puts down 261bhp and 550Nm

That mild hybrid not only saves fuel on long drives ( useless in the city), but makes no compromise on performance. The added weight of the battery doesn’t make any difference. The electric power makes up for that extra massive weight.

One visit to the Mercedes Museum in Stuttgart, and can’t help but feel disappointed in all Mercs till the E Class. Useless Fakery everywhere cosmetically. Korean and Japanese brands are better designed. Classes above the E Class I can relate to the Mercedes Benz legacy.
