Epic scenic flight - Great Ocean Road Twelve Apostles

Flying low level along the Great Ocean Road in Australia, getting some great views of the Twelve Apostles rock formations off the coastline. Flying a Cirrus SR20 from Moorabbin Airport to Warrnambool under the Visual Flight Rules.

I fly IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) in the Cirrus quite a lot but today decided to take a scenic flight along the coast flying VFR instead. This pilot vlog includes the departure from Moorabbin Airport, flying visual along the coastline, tips on traffic and mechanical turbulence, plus low level flying along the coast and our arrival at Warrnambool. Then I take a look around Warrnambool and get some cool drone footage over the ocean and check out the island where the Australian movie Oddball was filmed.

Great vids as always, Stefan. I love your down to earth and fun nature. Casually doing a full lap of your content while waiting for more to come out. Oh, and definitely jam first! Enables you to spread jam as thick as you'd like, and then dollop as much cream as you'd like without "contaminating" the utensil/container.

The best thing about flying the Great Ocean Road is looking down at the long lines of traffic stuck behind slow caravans, and enjoying the fact that you’re flying over them instead of being in them.

Jam first. Spread it thin but cover well. Then you can throw a big dollop of cream on top of the jam, conscience free! And btw Lovely video. You covered everthing so well and I was hardly nervous at all! :-)

South west victoria is a beautiful part of the state. Have family in Portland so often fly to Warrnambool / Portland. Oh and jam first on the scones.

Stef, I'm really enjoying these flying video's.  Loving the Great Ocean road aerial shots, they look terrific.  May have to do that trip myself one day!  I watched Oddball with my kids the other day, plenty of scenery shots similar to yours.  Oh, I also agree with HyoRidaa, jam first, then cream.
