Been there. Was metal detecting around a recently drained lake and lost track of where i was walking until i suddenly went to my chest in mud. Had to slowly pull myself up while spreading myself out. My shoes are still in there somewhere.

How to escape Quick sand.

1. Don't move, moving makes it worse
2. Remove heavy items.
3. Put yourself in a star position
4. Find a branch or a friend to pull you out (It need to be close though)
5. clinch on to grass or something and you'll be out
