I just finished it again for the first time since high school. I’m 65 now. You’re right. After finishing it, I went back and read the first couple of lines of the first chapter, and it meant even more. “Whenever you feel like criticising someone, Just remember all the people in the world haven’t had all the advantages you’ve had.”

It seems to me so many themes of that book and that time resonate more strongly now than perhaps since it was first published.

After a trip from NYC to Pennsylvania, DelMarVA Chesapeake, and much of Virginia we decided to briefly explore Long Island, basing ourselves in Great Neck, before returning to England, it was an unplanned visit..so no research. Had we had done more research we would have discovered the home of the Fitzgeralds. However the grand houses we visited gave an insight into the wealth and glamour that the social climbers were attracted to.

What is in the new edition besides the story: extra background or historical perspective? The cover in your video has been out for awhile, just wondering where I can buy the new edition. Like many people, I've re-read this story in my (later) adulthood and enjoyed it a lot.
