Hey everyone - I got a new editor this week! You may notice a few little differences in the way things look and feel, but hopefully not too much - I'm pretty pleased with the work he's doing. I'd love to hear your feedback on it, but also: he's my son, so I'd especially appreciate it if you kept the feedback from being mean-spirited. Thanks :).

"So anyway, I started blasting" really got me. Super excited to see the new version of the cantrip blaster!

I appreciate how you politely call out backgrounds as being restrictive and frustrating in your videos

Man I love the throat clearing compilation at the end lol. For sure feels like a move a son editing their dad's video would do

Pack Tactics video on the math behind "half on a save" is a great supporting source for why Potent Cantrip is actually an insanely powerful feature. The TL;DR is that something inflicting half on a save barely affects its DPR compared to if it always did full damage. A save or suck spell damage spell has its average damage multiplied (reduced) by the enemies chance to succeed on the save, but the math behind half on a save means that the average damage is only multiplied by a fraction of that success chance. The rule of thumb is that half on a save roughly equates to only around a 25%~ damage difference between an imaginary version of the spell that would always do full damage.

Randel's art is soooo good. I need to commission him to draw all the characters in my 3 year long campaign.

Wow, Colby! The build up of music in the intro was so strong and energizing, it left me screaming for cantrips... 🤣 I love the metal intro so much more. Good to hear it again! Love your stuff. Can't get enough of it!

I think this might be my favourite build. The thing I’ve always loved about Warlocks and how they play is using eldritch blast to do consistent, meaningful damage an unlimited amount of times and then using the spell slots for utility or big Nova rounds

Been looking forward to an Eldritch Blast optimized build. I knew it was only a matter of time!

With divine smite now being a bonus action, I'd love to see your new take on your old one-hit-wonder build. Hopefully something has come along in 2024 that piqued your interest!

Love that this build prioritizes control while mixing in damage and love that the video demonstrates the potential of the revised Evoker feature so well. But I could imagine some more thematic sorcerer-warlock combos: Aberrant Mind-Great Old One, Draconic-Fiend, Wild Magic-Fey…

This might be exactly what I was looking for!! I have been trying to build an Eldritch blast cowboy and this fits perfectly. 10/10

At 42:36 you mention the Warlock Tank. I built a multi class Warlock/ Barbarian build and this PC is fun to play. I took Arch Fey for Warlock subclass and Wild Heart as my Barbarian subclass and this build is so versatile in a combat situation I recommend it whole heartedly. Bamfing around the battlefield beating up on choice targets is an amazing combination of abilities. I chose a duergar as a race which gave him Enlarge/Reduce and Invisibility for free is a chefs kiss of bonus spells for utility and buffs. See what you can do to build one Colby :)

You can praise damage dealers and combat controllers and all sorts. But honestly, the pc casting bless is the MVP every single combat. Nothing comes even close and is stronger the better optimized the rest of the party is. Unless already having a max cha paladin and like two peace clerics, the bless is the most important thing ever. Optimizing the best blesser is my suggestion. The beloved optimized build that noone will groan at. Master blaster --> master blesser. Quick Cast lvl 2 bless and start blasting.
