Amazing tips. I do sooo well with footwork when hitting for fun but as soon as we're keeping score, it all goes out the window.

Ok, this is the best, most informative and clearly presented tennis instructional video I've ever watched, no exaggeration. I sound like I'm on a commission. Ain't so. Wowz. 🙏

Awesome, I never thought of hitting the ball at peak or rise. I usually wait for it to drop. Thanks

You’re content is far superior to that of some other well known coaches on this site. Much appreciated.

This!!! I would always wait until the ball would drop until some better players started to push me back so far I has no space for my backswing 😁 Now my focus is to be on time and always hit in the front. This alone makes tennis ten times more enjoyable!

I came to playing tennis with lots of experience playing organized baseball and basketball. There were definitely crossover skills that seemed to come naturally as I developed my tennis skills.

Good stuff. Question, have you ever done anything on when hitting a short ball do you follow in to the net, or back up to the baseline? The default is to go into the net, but it's not always the right move.

Very good instructional vid for footwork! Open stance BH is a higher level technique... requires significant core strength and excellent technique.

Thanks for the video. I agree with all your points. The only thing I would add, albeit the most simple, would be a proper split step.

Spacing is indeed so difficult. It requires you to correctly anticipate where the ball will bounce, and how high and how forward it will jump after the bounce. Since your ideal position (relative to the ball) depends on all those 3 factors, it's really hard. And even when we anticipate that correctly, many of us are clueless about different ideal positions for different balls.

I have played many years and I still get myself into the wrong position every single time I play, lol.
