The Lament of the Desert Lagoon
If you don't like hearing silent cries but still feel the weight of longing, then listen to this.

On a bare plain, beneath the desert sun,
there's an old lagoon, captured by the land.
I am that old lagoon, separated from the world,
the heat of the sun on my body, chains of the earth on my feet.
Once, I dreamed of being the sea, the world's largest sea.
Eyes set on horizons beyond high mountains,
but the hands of fate dug a hole, imprisoning me. Now, a half-dead captive,
vaporized by the sun above, and the earth below. My life ebbs away,
the thirsty soil taking my last drops.
I dry up, run out,
the wind brings sand to fill my spot. This is my fate,
a captive of the earth,
fading in my last moments.
Tomorrow, the sun will rise,
but I will be gone,
a memory in the desert’s song."
