1981 Topps wax pack opening..Huge Hit!!!

Opening a wax pack of 1981 Topps baseball cards. Got some stars and a huge rookie!

In today's world and, 1981 it is a very nice hit, having 2 on the same card means a lot. I'm old school and, started collecting in the 60's, I'll soon be 63 years young. I was about 19 years old, in my 2nd year serving in the Army 1981.

I won on that scratch game when I was a kid. Got a free batting glove that I used in little league.

I also began collecting when I was 9 years old in 1981. My uncle worked at a liquor store and he let me open an entire box. I was hooked!

I remember buying at least one box of 81 Topps, ripped it open. I still have a decent collection of Tim Raines rookies. Glad he got in HOF!

Collecting "for the fun of it" is really why we rushed home from the store growing up. For an investment? No kid even knew that concept. In 1975/76 getting a Reggie, Pete, or Johnny was the ultimate. That & the bubblegum. 😇⚾
