Love your quote "This is the way I feel inspired to do it."

I look forward to seeing you daily! I do art for the joy of creating. If others like it, that's fine but not necessary!

Hello! I I paint because it's a therapy for me. I have multiple sclerosis, and painting makes me happy so endorphins keeps stress depression and fatigue away. I paint because I love nature, specifically flowers. Painting with watercolor has proven to me that I have the power to heal myself, no pity, no complaints no sorrow just lost of things to be grateful. And I thank you Mrs. Diane, your videos gave me more confidence and knowledge to continue painting. So many blessings for you and your family, thank you so much!!! Glori

Diane, these sweet bookmarks are so charming! What a lovely gift this would make. Writing an inspirational message on each one is a fantastic idea. Thank you for sharing.

I was a Folk Art painter from 1993 - 2006. Took a break while raising my kids - then when my husband became ill in 2014 I started painting in acrylics again as a relaxing technique. After he passed in 2017 I continued painting in acrylics - until recently when I found your channel in watercolour. Now I love watercolour. I paint now to make a little pin money to buy more supplies - and I know that I will never be a great, famous artist - but it's very nice when someone tells you how much they love my artwork. I paint every day....sometimes for hours, some times for just minutes - but I touch a brush, a pencil, a marker or a crayon every day. So I really appreciate your channel because it always gives me some ideas for my daily painting. And I love your commentary during the video. So I thank you dear Diane & Tamsin - I really appreciate you more than you know.

Watching this at the tail end of October 2024. To answer your question of, “Why do you paint?” … Primarily, I paint for the joy of it. Also because I see so many styles of watercolor paintings by various artists and their work touches something deep in my heart and inspires me to create something similar for myself, or to give to others.
There are several YouTube artists that I enjoy watching, but you and Denise Love are my favorites and I’ve been most inspired by your work. Both of you have unique and enjoyable teaching styles and many times I’ll put on your channel even if I’ve seen the videos already, just to keep me company throughout my day or evening 😊
I greatly enjoy your fun and colorful animals and landscapes. I think my favorites of your paintings are the more recent Neurographic and shapes-with-doodling pieces (Kate Rebecca Leach is a favorite artist from Instagram and I have her abstract watercolor book, too) 😁
Thank you for your channel, your encouragement and your transparency. May the blessings of the upcoming holidays bring joy and gladness to you and your family and lovely farm and pets and sheep and chickens 🥰
Respectfully, Kim, age 67 from Alaska USA 😊

I am driven to create. In my opinion, it is one of the only craft/medium that you don’t have to depend on others to make a piece complete. You. Paper. Paint. Brush/pencils. Imagination. It is fulfilling. ❤️❤️❤️

I’ve just started painting this summer as a challenge. I’ve never taken a single art class and thanks to You and YouTube showing me that I can indeed draw and paint. It’s so peaceful and satisfying and I find that I look at everything a bit differently. I notice colors, shades, and shadows a lot more.

THANK YOU, DIANE! I am a Radiation Therapist, which means that I give radiation treatments to cancer patients all day long. I also have a one hour drive to and from work each day. I needed something to help me clear my mind when I get home from a long stressful day. I started watching your videos and have found them very relaxing. I love to listen to your voice and stories, and love watching your loose style of painting. I have been collecting up some supplies and I enjoy taking time to paint for a little bit each day when I get home. I have found painting relaxes me and gives me time to process my day. I have been making cards recently, I write encouraging remarks in side, sometimes just silly things, and deliver them to my coworkers and patients. Thank you for giving me permission to make perfectly imperfect little works of joy. I hope you keep doing what you are doing. You are such an inspiration.

This has been such a god awful week for women here in the U.S. it was so relaxing and soothing to listen to you and the rain in the background. I treated myself to a new ceramic palette and s box of 12 half pans of paint from A Gallo. Things will get better, but not soon. I paint for enjoyment. I paint for 15-20 minute blocks; I started with Christmas cards. I don’t paint for prizes or sale. Thank you for being there!

Hi Diane, thank you for making me think about why I love watercolour painting. I enjoy all types of watercolour art. I love your style and look forward to your videos. But I also enjoy learning to paint landscapes and more recently I have started botanical painting. So yes, all styles give me great pleasure. At the age of 70 it is great to learn new things, as I’ve been told it’s good for your memory. Thank you again for your wonderful art.

Hello Diane, I started my painting journey last Aug 2021 and it was recommended for my mental health issues to help with stress, ptsd, depression etc….I love my daughter at age 29 to a house fire and my life has been so incomplete since. So, yeah I paint 🎨 for health reasons and once I figured out I can paint a little I also paint for gift giving. Not out to get rich maybe help with my art supplies since there so expensive! When I found your channel I knew then you are the kind of painter and I’ve watched ever since! So thank you for all your videos and yes I try to paint with you which requires me pausing a lot and that’s ok with me 😊 your really, calm talking and I love that as well. Again, thank you 💜

The sound of the rain was so nice!
I have given a bit of thought to your question.
I think I want to paint for fun but I like to give cards and gifts to people of the things I paint.
It's like I've always wanted to be an "artist", but lack of talent keeps me from being a serious artist. Lol.
So, i paint to feel happy. I get a lot of joy watching others paint.
I still cringe at the blank page sometimes.
I'm a walking contradiction.

Love these tutorials. Painting is therapy. I dont aspire to be the next Monet. I paint because it's fun and relaxing. Thank you for your inspiration!

I paint because I must. Being in this world for 80 years, music and art have always been the constants. That being said, I have recently been diagnosed with macular degeneration, which has drastically challenged my ability to paint in the medium I have always used. My point is that having never used watercolor, Diane has literally saved me. The loose, casual approach is doable for me. I am learning with every video. That gift is priceless. I was depressed and sad until I found her. So many stories I’m sure we all have, and I doubt she knows what a tremendous impact her tutorials have. Now, again, I paint because it makes me whole and happy’❤️

I am watching this in the middle of the driest, hottest Texas summer that I can recall. Over 100° F, for weeks and weeks. Imagine how wonderful your downpour is to my senses. Love the tutorial and the background sound!! Thank you.
