I saw him at the Arkansas River Blues Festival on July 25, 1987. He was the headliner. Also in the lineup was Koko Taylor, Lonnie Mack, Larry 'Totsy' Davis, CeDell Davis and more! and I still have the t-shirt! lol

I was addicted to Johnny and Seconal. Believe I saw Mr.Winter over 25 times.
Two times in Connecticut and the rest in Rhode Island. He was best in a small
bar I use to talk to him and he knew me by name. I requested this tune and he
said he wouldn't play it without a flute. I loved his guitar playing he is number one
with the Gods now! Rest In Peace sir!!!

Could've used 4 or 5 Seconals after my mother died...told the doctor I needed some rest...to crash after 4 years of taking care of here but he gave me Elavail instead...I had a stroke. Qualludes would've been fine too. Not like I asked for a script. But back in the day as Johnny sings, there were people takin' this shit for kicks? Hey, musicians saw the low side of life like no others. Thank god Johnny lived long and got passed that crazy time.
