Homemade Masoor Dal Recipe
Ingredients:

1.5 cups of masoor dal, washed and soaked for 20 minutes
1 small onion, thinly sliced
2 medium tomatoes, cut into wedges
4-5 green chilies, slit
3 tbsp chopped coriander
1 tbsp thinly sliced garlic
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
Salt, to taste
3 tbsp cooking oil, divided
Instructions:

Prepare the Dal Mixture:

In a mixing bowl, combine the soaked masoor dal, sliced onion, tomato wedges, slit green chilies, chopped coriander, sliced garlic, turmeric, 1/2 tsp cumin seeds, and salt.
Drizzle with 1 tbsp of cooking oil and mix thoroughly with your hands, pressing slightly to blend the ingredients well.
Cook the Dal:

Heat 1 tbsp of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Once warm, add 1/2 tsp cumin seeds and sauté until fragrant.
Add the dal mixture to the pan and sauté on high heat for a few minutes.
Pour in 1.5 cups of water, cover, and simmer on medium heat for 10 minutes, or until the dal is soft.
Adjust Consistency and Seasoning:

Stir the dal well with a spatula to blend all the ingredients.
Gradually add 4-5 cups of hot water, adjusting the consistency according to your preference.
Taste and adjust the salt as needed.
Prepare the Tarka:

In a small pan, heat 2 tbsp of cooking oil.
Add 1.5 tbsp of thinly sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown.
Stir in a pinch of Kashmiri red chili powder for a burst of color and flavor.
Final Touch:

Pour the hot tarka over the cooked dal and mix well.
To Serve:

Serve the delicious masoor dal hot, accompanied by rice or roti. Enjoy the burst of flavors in this simple yet hearty meal!

আমার বাসায় প্রায় প্রতিদিনই ডাল রাধি।
কিন্তু এই চ্যানেল না দেখলে কখনো জানতেই পারতাম না ডাল রান্না এত কঠিন!

আর শুকনা মরিচের ফোড়ন দিয়ে ডাল রান্নার কথা জানি, কিন্তু মরিচের গুড়ার বাগাড় দেয়া দেখে মনে হল, যে মানুষ জীবনেও ডাল খেয়ে দেখেনি, সে শুধু ডালের চেহারা দেখে রিক্রিয়েট করলে এমন কিছু একটাই হবে।
