Coyotes are not a big problem. 1-Clearcutting hardwoods, replanting pines not burning along with shorter rotations equals poor turkey woods. 2- Baiting deer year round gives raccoons and other nest predators a full buffet to thrive on coupled with no trapping or fur trade any more equals high predation and low survival.
3- more hunting and less property to hunt.

Had a coyote within 5 feet last year, Leaned up against a fence and looked back to see eyes on the other side. Pretty wild

I had one came rounded to my decoys trying to attack from behind. Well, the property I hunt is small, so as soon as Coyotes appear, that certain day’s hunt is over. So I ruined his life for ruining my day hunt and he got himself a 3.5” Turkey load in 10 yards 😊

I had a Bobcat try to put the sneak on my decoys last spring. Bobcats are protected in my So I'll just leave it there 😉.

The farmer that owns our lease I'm Kansas Does Not permit Coyote hunting. In fact, shooting a coyote would probably get us kicked off the property.
You see he courses them with Greyhounds in the winter....

Called a coyote in to 12 yards last season with a slate call. He was met with the same fate as this one.

Happened to me several years back, I shot and missed the yote and a long beard flew literally 30 yards behind the yote. Both headed to the mouth call with no decoys. Definitely have head on a swivel now.

I was jumped by a coyote back in 2008 that was coming into my calls. Have had several attack my decoys over the years but this guy I never saw or heard coming. I was calling for a friend and was sitting behind him when I was slammed by what felt like a freight train. It was on a full run when it grabbed my left arm at the elbow, not unlike the coyote videoed here when it grabbed at the decoy. Long story short I only suffered minor scratches and one good puncture wound but still was made by the CDC to undergo rabies shots. Coyote got away but when I was on my back and it realized its mistake it spun out on my face and knocked out a filling. 🦷 Lol. While hunting with 2 other friends several yrs later I heard a twig snap and turned to see one not 30 feet from me, slinking towards me. I was the caller that day as well, no gun, so I had to shoo it away. I am now VERY VERY cautious when turkey hunting!🐺 😉
