Bayonetta 2 - ev6a0e (Unused cutscene)

A scrapped Bayonetta 2 cutscene, only found in the Switch version. It was meant to occur during Chapter XV: Truth.

It is likely based on a concept art piece where Bayonetta and Balder are standing on falling clock tower debris. Before this cutscene, Loptr was planned to appear at the top of the clock tower and signal for the angels to destroy it, which is probably why Bayo and Balder encounter him on the debris.

The two witch apprentices may be placeholders for Bayonetta and Jeanne from the first game. They're in the same poses they strike at the beginning of the Records of Time chapter in Bayonetta 1.

Yusuke Kan, the artist behind the aforementioned concept art, provided comments about Chapter XV in the "The Eyes of Bayonetta 2" (page 181) which further support these theories:

[...] 当初はバルドルと共闘しながらという案もありました。
"[...] the initial idea was to fight alongside Balder." (during the Great War)
この戦場のどこかで過 去作のベヨとジャンヌも戦っていると思うと感慨深いです。
"It is very moving to think that somewhere on this battlefield, Bayonetta and Jeanne from the previous games are also fighting."

Were they originally planning to have it so you're fighting Loptr at the same time as Bayonetta and Jeanne during the first games Records of Time? They should have kept that. That would have been so cool

I think the reason why they didn't use this cutscene is because they're planning to do the "multiverse", they tried to hide it from us.
