The beautiful city of Málaga lights up its Christmas this Friday, November 29th. Once again, the Celestial Angels will be on Calle Larios, and the Cathedral will debut a new video mapping. Among the novelties this year are the lights on the trees of Paseo del Parque, projections on the façade of the Town Hall, as well as the new lighting on Calle San Juan.

This year, just like the previous two years, the Celestial Angels will be illuminating Christmas for the people of Málaga. They are once again 16 figures, four metres high, supported by 32 lateral columns. Their 12-metre-long tails are designed with effervescent effects, starting in warm white and ending in pure white, imitating trails that fade away as they pass.

The design of these winged beings is completed with glitter finishes made of two-coloured leaves so that the angels can also shine in all their splendour during the day. The columns that support the angels, for their part, are decorated with gold sequins and crystals.

As usual, there will be three passes to enjoy the light and music show on this emblematic street of the capital: at 6:30pm, 8:00pm and 10:00pm (except on 24 and 31 December).

Calle San Juan is new with a unique decoration, as in recent years, which divides the street into three different illuminated spaces.

First, there is the area called Chandelier Room, a baroque chamber that according to the creators "transforms the street into a romantic and dreamy performance." The second part is called Thai Sky, where the passerby can find themselves under a natural blanket of lamps with handmade Thai lanterns, illuminated with rustic Edison-type bulbs. The third part of the street, called The Magic Cave, is decorated to simulate that it runs through the interior of a cave with stalactites as hanging light elements.

The Christmas lights will be on around 500 streets throughout the city. Once they are turned on, they will be switched on at 6:30pm every day, and will be switched off at different times depending on the date. On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays they will be on until midnight; on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, as well as on the eve of public holidays, they will be on until two in the morning. In the case of the holidays of Christmas Eve (December 24) and New Year's Eve (31), the lights will be on until six in the morning.
