HAHAHA - Already been down this road! Got selected, paid the fee, passed the medical and did the interview. I met ALL the requirements they were asking for up front yet couldn't adjust status because even with legal entry they WILL NOT issue it if you are in the country but out of status. That's a lousy reason for denial especially for those who became out of status for circumstances beyond their control and not out of their own fault.

They really should change that part of the DV eligibility requirements to extend to those who came here legally and became VICTIMS of immigration/employment scams. Heck, even the DOL knew about what was going on in my case yet USCIS ignored all the evidence I presented to them. Not only that but they seized my original I-94 at the interview and never bothered to return it. To say that this was a disappointment is an understatement. USCIS couldn't care less about helping innocent victims, showed zero compassion towards my situation and absolutely didn't care about any of the details I had provided them.
