My 2005 is still going strong but I am considering buying a 2016 as I believe that it is the last year that Volvo will make this model. The biggest maintenance issue has been the front suspension. The lower control arms wear out after 70, 000 miles and the front strut mounts also fail and need replacing as the rubber bits chip and break. Always change the fluids, especially the transmission fluid, as required. The transmission is actually a Toyota/Lexus/Aiken unit and is almost indestructible if you change the fluid on schedule. Only use high grade 100% pure synthetic engine oil because of the turbocharger. Replace the radiator after 10 years as they can crack and fail. The T5 tend to need a new AC compressor at about 110, 000 mi and mine is no different. The car is much more economical than my Audi A4 AWD which requires much more maintenance.
