It’s all about your reason for using it. It takes the edge off my pain, relaxes me, and gives me creative and spiritual insights. I don’t use it to escape anything

Been smoking for 25 years. Anxiety has never been an issue for me. I guess it depends on people and their pre disposition towards anxiety.

This is one of the reasons I quit, been completely sober (no pot, no alcohol, no nicotine) for over 2 months now and i feel the best i ever have, and no anxiety. Although I can’t take all the credit, God has definitely been my rock through these hard times, and whenever I struggle I have Him to lean on🙏🏼

I believe cannabis “enhances” your mental state, most of the time people are getting into a good mood or hanging with friends or into there comfort spot so it enhances that vibe.

I have a rule that I never smoke if I’m currently anxious or mad or anything negative because i feel cannabis would “enhance” in a bad way, those feeling.

I’ve smoked almost everyday since I was 15. I’m 23 now. This past two years I’ve been trying to better myself and my relationship with pot. Using it to fall asleep for a number of years as well and still do sometimes. I’ve learned so much from Andrew huberman and can honesty say everything he’s been saying about marijuana is true and I’ve experienced it all myself. It also changed my perspective and makes me conscious of my actions and thoughts, giving me more empathy and compassion. I love marijuana but I know smoking it everyday has cost. Be aware.

People ignore receptor dynamics. It’s the whole basis of tolerance and addiction. If you are using any substance regularly, your body is adapting to it.

The best thing I ever did was accept that this was happening to me and stop my ten year daily use habit. It took some time, but after leveling back out I really got my anxiety under control.

Have to share my thoughts here. Been smoking now for about two yrs now. It started for me to help relax from performance anxiety at work and in the bed room. After misfiring with Zoloft, I tried cannabis and I fell in love. Fast forward to this weekend where due to travel, I detoxed for about 24hrs and found myself having an anxiety attack on the ferry ride from Trinidad to Tobago. I tend to microdose to up to smoke smoke throughout the day to help focus with my newly discovered adhd. Without weed, not sure where I would be with depression but I can certainly see the correlation. Different strains help. Scheduling your smokes of course. Therapist is a must. And mental awareness practices.

I have smoked around twice a week for 30 years & my tolerance hasn't increased at all & I have never suffered from excess anxiety

Been smoking weed daily from my 16th. I'm 50 now. Never done it for anxiety relief. So even when I don't use it, I don't get anxious, because for me there is no correlation.

Been smoking weed for over twenty years, started in Jamaica in the 90’s and never had an anxiety attack, didn’t know that was a thing. For the past 5 or so years smoking in different parts of the us I can say I do not enjoy it anymore and I have anxiety attacks every time I smoke weed. It’s sad feeling something used to give me so much joy and relaxation just turn on me.

Yeah been smokin for 7 years or so and that is the most true thing I’ve heard. Whenever I take t breaks I feel more calm. Some people can’t accept that it’s a drug.

Anxiety's weakness is MEDITATION! 🧘‍♂️

As someone who smoked for a decade I assume it's because we procrastinate to the point where nothing done.

I had this anxiety increase start to happen after about 20 years of regular use. Due to other heath concerns I overhauled my diet, focused on mental well being and exercise and the anxiety evaporated. Since the anxiety was being dealt with, my cannabis consumption dropped naturally. The effects were more potent and I felt I needed it less and less. I’m not suggesting regular use has no drawbacks, but don’t blame the butter (or in this case weed) for what the bread did (in my case quite literally bread). Eat clean, pray and meditate, learn new things, hug your loved ones and see how you feel.

Meaningless when you have extreme chronic pain. Chronic acute pain from fibromyyalgia, trigeminal neuralgia, and multiple sclerosis causes me far more anxiety.I would at 51 if neurotypical and not in such great physical pain would not smoke it at all now. It helps me a lot do enjoy your channel very much. You make detailed valid points and are a great interviewer and speaker.I am autistic and have shizo affective disorder. My life is already filled to the brim of the cup figuratively with anxiety. Cannabis is my only vice. I don't like nor use opiates.

Interesting. Im 58, smoke daily and feel zero anxiety. It calms me down, i get focused and energized and curves my appetite. 🤔
I also don't drink alcohol. The damages ive seen from alcohol is tragic!

It's the same with alcohol abuse. Any time you take something that reduces pain in some way (anxiety being mental pain, for the sake of argument), it makes it more extreme when you finally do experience it.

It actually just occurred to me right now that it's probably more accurate to look at tolerance the other way around. You're not building a tolerance to the substance. Instead, by not being exposed to that pain, your sensitivity to it increases. That means that (1) you need higher doses of the substance to stave off the pain, but also (2) when you experience that pain, it's more intense.
