In this episode, we follow John Calvin and his work in Geneva, Switzerland. Geneva would almost become a Protestant version of Rome, primarily through John Calvin's work on the Reformation. Many reformers would pass through this city in the 16th century from all over Europe, which is why John Calvin is often referred to as the 'International Reformer' as his influence spread far and wide.

John 16:1 ¶These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.

2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, *that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.*

3 *And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.*

4 But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.

Calvin had perfectly correct doctrine. He was the rarest of teachers who was granted revelation on two of the most privileged truths in scripture: total depravity and predestination. The third rarest doctrine for people to master is the spiritual irrelevance of Hebrew genetic lineage, an error which has allowed dispensationalism to corrupt the western churches today, and I admit I have not yet discovered what Calvin thought on that score.

Pope Pius IV saw the truth about John Calvin's moral character: The French reformer had no interest in money or fame, he was incorruptible, a humble man devoted to the word of God. Today in apostate France the Gospel cannot be preached openly as reformed theologian Dr. Peter Jones (YouTube) has pointed out. France has no interest in one of her greatest sons.
