We lived near McConnell AFB in Wichita when i was younger. Ill never forget the B1's when they took off. It rattled your soul and left no car alarm undisturbed. Brutal power.

My best 7 years were at Nellis AFB(civ contractor). B-1s at night were as good as it got.

At Robins AirForce base, B-1s would take off in pairs. First one would take of normally, but the second would always go full afterburner to catch up. They would fly over the Boeing plant at the end of the runway where I worked . The sound that thing would make going over only a few 100 feet off the ground was intense. Had to stop doing it because of all the damage to hanger windows....

I did a red flag in 99 with the RAF while on a Jaguar Sqn. I was lucky to be one of several picked to go to Offutt AFB to celebrate 50 years of NATO.
