So glad I found this! I've been looking for this dance for ages, but
wasn't sure of the name. I used to dance this with my grandfather when I
was little, (back in the 50s) and he used to swing me through the air
at the spinning part. So great to see this again. Thank you for posting,
and thank you YT for making this possible. <3

Ha! Used to do this, or more accurately, attempt this dance back in the 1970s in Central Park, Manhattan.

Started my Scandinavian dance journey with the Swedes in Milwaukee. Danced my first Hambo with a woman named Lillian in a Swedish performing group. Singers who sing in rounds like row row row your boat take note dancers dance in rounds with their steps shifted in time. The point is not to follow your partner but to blend your steps with hers or vice versa.

I did this in a hall with many people, dancers behind dancers, in KIping Ontario Canada now called Deer Lake, a rural Scandinavian commnuntiy then.
