The GNS3 Windows Server 2016 and Windows Server 2012 R2 QEMU appliance is now available! Run Windows Server VMs directly within the GNS3 VM.

Thanks! I'd like to add an update - the windows server appliance can no longer be downloaded on the GNS3 website (unable to download). It can instead be found in the normal GNS3 GUI by default, under the available devices. You can then follow the same process as in the video.

I love this mans videos and own a number of his udemy courses. I do wish he would do some of his gns3 videos for people running linux as opposed to windows. I am just learning gns3 (and linux) and have heard that the gns3 vm is completely unnecessary on linux, seems like mac and windows gns3 is all he covers.

I have seen in many tutorials, that they import an appliance which has as an icon a PC's tower.
Probably it is a server but I cannot find this image nowhere and I do not know how = to search it.
Anyone?

Hi David, all setup is going great.But when i close GNS3 and start it again if i want to use again windows server when i start node it shows me screen to go again throught installation. Do we need to install windows server everytime we want to use it in gns3? Thank you for your answer

I have downloaded so many images none of them will install. every one has a md5 error.

Hi David, I had a go and got md5 mismatch errors on both MS isos. File versions looked right - apart from not having "Win2k16" or "Win2k12" at the start of the name.

I've been using Win2008 Server as a "linked" VMWare VM within GNS3 up to now with great success. Also doing this with TacacsGUI and ACS 5.8 for AAA labs.

Out of interest, is there any chance the IOSvL2 appliance could be updated to recognise the latest Virl L2 switch image? I imported it manually and it seems to be fully featured now AND has a smaller footprint.
