My PE teachers were one of the main things that got me through high school. I was at an all girls school, & was popular until I got into year 10 (in Australia - don’t know what that equates to in the US) & hated the hierarchy. I thought I was leading by example (or just being logical, & thought surely logic would prevail) - calling out girls in the “in crowd” I was in, & standing up for girls who got bullied, inviting them into the group. I committed “social suicide” - even those I stood up weren’t willing to do the same for me. But I played every sport I could. My mum initially drew the line - she refused to wake up at 4am to take me to rowing practice in the middle of winter (on top of netball, cross country & basketball), but then one of my PE teachers said “no” when I wanted to do badminton in summer (already doing tennis, waterpolo, on the swim team & athletics 😅). PE was my release.

When people ask your last name do they assume your first name is Matt and last name Levich? Haha we have very similar last names and it’s drives me crazy but then everyone tells me I have the coolest last name….
