In this video, I’m going to talk about my experience with the Sony A7RIV and why it just isn’t for me (an A7III user) The experience of using the A7RIV is very similar to the A7III/A7RIII and if It wasn’t for the bigger grip and larger EVF, I would not be able to tell the difference between both camera while in the field. I really like the camera and it gets me excited

The A7III is just the perfect all around camera for me and feel no need to upgrade just for more resolution. Who is saving them 💵 for the A7SIII?

Started photography just 6 months ago with the A7III. I have learned tons from your videos and follow you religiously. I just picked up the A7RIV and was blown away by my nature shots as well as my portrait shooting. One major fallback with the A7RIV,
When I am shooting eagles in flight; the amount of time it takes to come out of sleep mode before it is ready to take the shot is around 5 seconds. If I had known this prior to purchase, I would have gone with the A9 without a doubt. Keep your fabulous videos coming as you are my true "mentor ".

Manny saying you don't need to upgrade just to upgrade is the best words ive heard from a vlogger in a minute. Much respect.

I agree...I'd love the A7III to get the Eye-AF live tracking in video but it's not super necessary so for now I'll stick with my A7III, still the best all rounder IMO

He's a instagram photographer. He's not a high end commercial photographer. Love the guy, his videos are sick. It's overkill for his line of work.

I'm with you... I'll be sticking with the A7RIII, It's a great camera and I just don't need 61MP or any of the other upgrades so I'll skip a generation.

To be honest, I don't think Sony released the A7RIV for most A7RIII users to upgrade or to compete with medium format. I think they just wanted to surprise the competition. It's a power move which basically kills the Lumix S1R stone dead and puts Canon and Nikon in a bad position.

The only good thing that come with the A7RIV is the price-drop of the A7RIII.

I remember when Sony launched their 24mp NEX7, reviewers said we really don't need all those megapixels. Nowadays, no one would buy a 12mp camera. Sony is looking into the future and producing cameras for every segment of users. The 60mp ceiling is going to be common real quick when Canon and Nikon releases their own line up.

Just watched a video saying the more megapixels the better you are preparing for the future, with the larger images potential to print larger, sharper. Not sure I could ever go backwards from the A7Riii to the A7iii. And not sure I can resist going up to 61megapixels from 40. After the time trouble and expense of traveling or organizing shoots, I want to end up with the best images I can. (Though medium format is where I should be, I’ve invested too much in the FE lenses now to switch)

Thank you Manny, I bought the A73, it’s definitely different than my Z7, it is a learning curve. Your honesty is so much appreciated. Big hello to your family

point. Don't upgrade just to upgrade. I really disliked many "reviewers" who literally mention that they need to or just graded because of xyz feature.

I think the A7R IV would be worth it if you could choose the RAW MP level. For the most part I don't need 61MP - but it would be nice to have it if I really want it. Most of the time I would be happy with 24-30 MP Raws

To me the A7III is amazing. The only way I would keep it for the next 3-5 years would be if it had a flip out screen, the EVF of the A7RIV, and a higher LCD screen on the back. Then it would be perfect and no need to upgrade to anything else in the near future.

I do alot of wildlife and the ability to crop when your lens isnt long enough is AMAZING. I tried out an a7rii and even that was unbelievable with the cropped in details so this is a solid pick up.

Actual improvements that would interest me in future mirrorless cameras..
1- Built-in (preferably Godox compatible) wireless flash control.
2- BRAW video or Sony equivalent.
3- Programmable multi shot to go beyond basic timelapse and double exposure into complex bracketing, up-rezzing and automatic-flambient shooting/blending.

I agree with that I dont need those extra mega pixels.. I think a A7III would be a great upgrade from my A7II if needed.

The A7R IV is my favorite BEAST. I upgraded from the A7 III and have not regretted it! Better focus, 26 mp in super35 is better and sharper picture than A7 III, 2x UHS, better EVF and so on 🤙🏽

I had purchased the A7RIII and had it for 3 weeks — loved it but missed the colors and extra megapixels of my former Canon 5DSR. Thankfully my retailer let me return it and pre-order the A7RIV. For work that doesn’t require that kind of resolution, I reach for my A9 or my wife’s A7III
