Cratedigging with Dave from Mae | Vinyl Record Hunt

What an absolute honor and treat to go cratedigging with Dave Elkins from Mae, the co-founder and lead singer of the band. And on the morning of their new album release, Multisensory Aesthetic Experience! Dave was an excellent companion on our vinyl record hunt at Record Surplus in Santa Monica, CA.

This video is especially meaningful to me, because I've been listening to Mae's music for almost half my life, and I own all of their records. It's safe to say that The Everglow is in my top 25 albums of all time, so I was elated when he graciously signed my copy.

Dave was not only incredibly kind and easy to talk to, we also had an eerily similar taste in music -- including a mutual admiration for a certain hip-hop producer. Transatlanticism is more solid as an album, though Plans has 3 of my top 5 Death Cab songs on it, "Summer Skin", "Your Heart Is An Empty Room", and "Brothers On A Hotel Bed". Both albums have around the same score for me though, hard to pick a favorite.
