GE2025 is just around the corner, but before we look ahead, let’s rewind to GE2020—a general election filled with unexpected moments and political milestones. From extended polling hours to a result announcement at 3:44am, it was far from a normal election.

The Workers’ Party saw a significant transition, with three veteran MPs stepping down and new faces stepping up—yet still pulling off their best-ever performance. We also witnessed the official appointment of Singapore’s first-ever Leader of the Opposition, a historic move that changed parliamentary dynamics.

New players like the Progress Singapore Party (PSP) emerged, and the PAP lost its second GRC—Sengkang GRC—shocking many.

Pritam Singh has declared that it is “time to draw a line” under long-standing political barriers in the CIPC funding process, calling recent reforms a long-overdue correction to systemic bias against opposition wards.

Do the three veterans know the answers to below question?
The elephant in the room is no one, not even WP which has many GE experience asked is there a moment when the ballot boxes are obscured from polling agents' eyes? Eg. When votes are casted and boxes sealed, how are they transported if any? If vehicle is used, so polling agents follow into the vehicles? Are the sealing tapes repositionable? 3M experts will know there are thousands to over a million adhesives.
So, why is WP not asking?
Can those who were polling agents clarify?
Do polling agents check before the first votes is casted, the integrity of the box ?

Suggestion to BlueCat for educational topic:
1. If sg value democracy, why is there no concrete curriculum teaching children from say secondary school, what is the model for democracy singapore wants? Cannot be that singapore is afraid to awaken democracy to the citizens right? Imagine, teaching democracy, even the version the gov wants, would have to teach them what is their duty as voters to be responsible voter by being concerned about policies abd politics. But this would lead to Change and challenging the status quo right?
I wonder why there is no such robust curriculum. Surely its not the lack of Altruism right? You think lah. Dun wait for me to spoonfed you.

2. What exactly is the ballot box surveillance process like? Is there Zero Possibility that the polling agents could not see the boxes for even a split second? Are boxes transported vehicles obscured from the agents?
What adhesive out of the million possible adhesives possible is used? Any 3M expert who can testify? Is the stickers sealing the boxes made with RePositionable adhesive?
Are the ballot papers, printed with serial numbes only printed once? Is there audited evidence proving only one set is printed and how strict is this process? Why did one GRC resident complained they got more than one copy? Other than the serial number, is it right ti say the ballot paper is merely a laser printer document? Does the ballot stanping using the stamp pen mean that there is no signature effect that makes a stamping unique?
