Just wanted to say that as soon as I saw Leclerc have his engine failure, my first thought was “Oh no..Matt in WTF1 will be absolutely gutted by that”…am I right?

While Red Bull's retirements early in the season cost them a lot, they were not power unit related but fuel pump related. This means that they are looking like they will take less penalties than Ferrari who have had actual PU issues and have used all their allowed components. Not looking good for Ferrari.

Vettel has spun so much in the last couple of years he's now mastered the technique and can do it perfectly on command 😂😂😂😂

Poor Charles, he just can’t seem to catch a break recently. If it’s not the Ferrari master blan strategy team messing up then his engine just goes boom instead

Edit: wasn’t trying to start a war here lol, of course Max and Checo were both also unlucky at the start of the season with RB reliability issues

Perez even said max was faster and stronger today he couldn't off have defenden against max anyways so why risk that they would hit each other. Smart call by red bull

Ive conceded myself to Redbull winning the season. Im transitioning to hoping checo brings the fight to verstappen.
Matt, its ferrari. You know exactly why it can go downhill so easily.

2022 season summary: Leclerc 15 pole positions, Verstappen 15 victories.

Danny: Push or I'll overtake you!
Lando: No, you push or I'll overtake you!

I have to give it to the McLaren team radio for keeping me entertained.

1:34 isn't that a biased opinion? Like for real, what was the point to fight with Verstappen when he was already 2 seconds faster per lap and Perez was suffering tire degradation? Plus you had Charles in the game at that point. Wouldn't that hurt both Max and Checo at that point?

Max was noticably faster than Checo, and Checo knew that. The 'no fighting' call was the safest option to keep the 1-2 and not have them crash into eachother.

I don't get the whole hype around Checo not fighting. Max had way better pace and tires. Giving him a hard time then only risks the best possible result for the team.

I love it when Matt and the team release the internet's best reactions just after the F1 race. It's a great end to the weekend 👌🏼

5:45 even Horner said after the race that the fans got robbed by not seeing how the strategies were going to onfold, and i do think he wanted to see it as well

Sick of people moaning about “team orders”. Max dropped 20 seconds on checos head, it would make no sense for RB or Checo to fight Max in that situation, he was clearly quicker.

Verstappen was way faster than checo today. That should be clear to anyone who watched. This guy is always trying to make up some redbull controversy. Checo himself said max for sure deserved the win today

Hamilton and Vettel are really struggling with their backs!
Reasons:
Hamilton: porpoising.
Vettel: Carrying Aston Martin.

I'm SO tired of the 'poor Checo' victim narrative. His teammate created a 21 second gap in a car that he's less comfortable in than Perez and even with being told to slow down and not use his DRS. Give Max some credit for Christ's sake. He's the nr. 1 driver for a reason.

the delta between max and checo at the time was huge, like 4s over 2-3 laps, and the strategy was on knife's edge against leclerc. so yea, understandable "order".

"No fighting" meant no risky moves against eachother, wasn't team orders. Verstappen finished 21 seconds ahead of Checo, that isn't team orders that's one driver being better than the other
