It's honestly insane how fast you are able to put out videos of this length and production quality.

When his sister "read his book for the THIRD time" and "it blew her mind" .. She realized he insane and at that point you just pretend to agree with them. Psychotic people are scary to talk to, especially if they are a family member. They relentlessly pursue their halucinations and wont stop talking to you about it. In the end you just say "Ok wow, that's so cool. Yeah! Totally!" .. because it's the only way to get a break

I love how for the math section, rather than just adding the 1 and 1 together and then dividing by 2x to get x = 1, he tries to make it look more complicated by adding 2 more unnecessary steps by negating the entire equation and then pulling out the -1 (but then forgetting to make the 2 positive).

You've been going so hard on content Tom, the amount of quality content you're able to put out is unmatched. I'm so hooked on your entire channel man idk how you do it

essentially, this guy has no barrier in his head between being wrong and getting pushback because people dont like change
when he gets told hes wrong, it must be because people dont like his totally profound discoveries, not because what he does is worthless
he constructed a way in which he can tell himself that he is literally never wrong

"a guy who wanted to make money selling schizo books" is the best way to describe this whole ordeal.

Ah the Borges case, it gathered a lot of attention here in Brazil at the time. Never thought I'd see Tom talking about it, the video is great btw, thanks for making it!💪 🇧🇷

The cicada 3301 image should've been a major red flag (they're an anonymous group that did a few worldwide Alternate Reality Games), along with how neat his room was (indicative of pre-planning and clear thinking.) And the sheer number of books he was able to write. Haven't finished the video but I'm calling it that his "big project" was orchestrating his disappearance. He is not schizophrenic, he's narcissistic.

ETA: someone's pointed out that bipolar with manic delusions of grandeur might be closer to what's happening here instead of narcissism. It's too much upfront prep with no guarunteed recognition for a narcissist, and I feel that's a good point. Would also explain the word vomit books and excessive props.

As a Brazilian, I have to say, it was impressive that he came back! Going missing on Acre is not easy, he could’ve been eaten by a dinosaur or actually been abducted by a UFO!
I mean, we don’t even know for sure if Acre even exist!

The fact that 14 million people could just drop off the face of the earth, whether they want to or not, is something that is both intriguing yet disturbing.

I love how when the cops questioned the moral ambiguity, the lady basically just said “you think Bruno is bad because YOU’RE BAD!”

I'm from Brazil and I remember this case, everyone would talk abut it for months nonstop, but I never took any interest on it, thanks for uploading this, now I can finally know what the hell was that all about

9:06 The image drawn on the outside of the circle is called Sei Heki, and is commonly used in The Usui Japanese reiki tradition. It's a symbol which represents emotional healing. The use of this symbol could suggest he was depressed or deeply disturbed. Sei Heki is generally used to heal emotional trauma.

The way we’re getting desensitized of missing cases unless there’s something interesting enough for us. it’s kinda weird.

this case was much discussed here in Brazil, The boy from Acre. This case even managed to appear several times on Fantastico (the most watched television show here that airs every sunday on Globo). This boy had this much attention because the state that he lives on (Acre) is very random, not much journalistic news come from there. At this time it was common meme on the brazilian internet to say that Acre has dinossaurs and aliens so, when this bro went missing with a lot of extraterrestrial references, everyone started panicking thinking that this was a real abduction case. Almost every social media and tv station were talking about this dude at the time. Turned out that he was just "lost" on the woods next to his house. If I remember right all this thing were just a Marketing strategy to the book he would publish later, but this book was a commercial failure. (Sorry for bad english, I'm from Brazil)

Well… actually a lot of the missing people are later found but that’s not mentioned. It’s usually a kid going for a sleepover and not coming home for a few days or someone not calling their family for a few days. So a lot of missing persons are solved within a few hours to a few days when the person shows up or the police do a wellness check

good to see you bounce back and just keep making long form content, even when you’re getting flagged, your audience appreciates it

All I can say is: LOL. I remember the "I'm smart so listen to what I found out" phase of my life. Wild times. I've since stopped using illicit substances in favor of a more normal life with kids.

I love to fall asleep to your videos. Your voice is calming, i don’t have to look at the screen since you explain the information, and the videos are usually long enough so I don’t have to turn on another one before i fall asleep🥰 Thank you for another great video Tom!!

I think he genuinely believes what he's writing about, and it makes sense to him. I've struggled with schizophrenia for a very, very long time-- and it leads me to saying a whole lot of nothing sometimes. My thoughts are too scattered and I miss the most important information.. the point. This isn't all that unusual in the community either. It's very common to get overwhelmed by thoughts, realize something that you, yourself find absolutely revolutionary, and go to share it-- but simply can't find the words or structure. The alternative is you can find the words, but the topic is something that isn't all that new or interesting to others, and instead is downright obvious. My husband humbles me a lot during these moments and it keeps me grounded. I'm sad Bruno didn't have someone that he trusted enough to ramble to, as that would have saved a whole lot of people a whole lot of drama.
