Ash paused, a smirk playing on his lips as he kneeled a bit to get on her eye level. He withdrew the lolipop from his mouth, dangling Z's hat tantalizingly out of her reach.
"Come and get it, Shorty." He mocked.

Z, having enough, snatched the lolipop from his grip and, before he could argue, slipped it into her own mouth.

Ash stilled. His cheeks grew warm..

Z had also paused, but after a moment, with the tall teen distracted, snatched her hat from his, now loose, grip. Adjusting it on her head, she strolled off, speaking between the candy. "Thanks for the sucker, " She called. "Sucker."

Ash straightened, blinking as if he's just come out of a daze. He didn't have the thought to reply.

The neon sign on the window mocked his beating heart.
