1978 Chevy 5.7 diesel first drive in 33 years!

Got the 1978 5.7 diesel on the highway after 33 years of sitting. It ran pretty good the tires have a few flat spots but other than it rode smooth.

This is awesome to see. This is exactly what I want. These 5.7 and 4.3 diesels are HARD to find. Especially since everyone keeps destroying them. Either because they don't know how to properly maintain them or they just want to do some weird swap.

I just purchased a 1979 chevy square body 5.7 liter diesel for $800.00 my plan is to clean it up and keeping it original.

Was it a private owner or scrap yard? I always love a story about saving a vehicle from the shredder. My friend picked up a beater chevy van back in the late 90s from a wrecking yard here in Wpg. Didn't do a thing to it. Even left "The Spinster" on the side. He just scrapped it recently lol
