Tired of drifting, searching, shifting through town to town
Every time I slip and slide a little further down
I can't blame you if you won't take me back
After everything I put you through
But honey you're my last hope
And who else can I turn to

Come on Silver Lady take my word
I won't run out on you again believe me
Oh, I've seen the light
It's just one more fight
Without you
Here I am a million miles from home
The Indiana wind and rain cut through me
I'm lost and alone, chilled to the bone
Silver Lady

Double talkers, backstreet walkers at every turn
Seedy motels and no star motels still I had to learn
That the one shining thing in my mind
Was the sweet love I had with you
And honey you're my last hope
And who else can I turn to

Come on Silver Lady take my word
I won't run out on you again believe me
Oh, I've seen the light
It's just one more fight
Without you
Here I am a million miles from home
The Indiana wind and rain cut through me
I'm lost and alone, chilled to the bone
Silver Lady

Can't you find it in you to forgive me
Cause here I am a million miles from home
The Indiana wind and rain cut through me
I'm lost and alone, chilled to the bone
Silver Lady

Come on Silver Lady take my word
I won't run out on you again believe me
Oh, I've seen the light
It's just one more fight
Without you
Here I am a million miles from home
The Indiana wind and rain cut through me
I'm lost and alone, chilled to the bone

I am 65 yrs old now but when cool music like this takes you back in time, you only realize that your exterior ages but your mind is a time capsule that never grows old. I am lucky to have lived the 70´S, music and tv shows like Starsky n Hutch were worth a million.

Really sad to hear of David's passing....grew up watching Starsky and Hutch and being scared to death watching Salem's Lot. When this song came out I remember thinking this guy is multi-talented!

1977 Top of the Pops. I remember playing this song as a 45 rpm single on a sunday morning while my mum was cooking a roast dinner. A great song with fantastic memories, RIP David.

David Soul definitely had a lot of soul not just in acting but also as a singer too. He is certainly a human of multiple talents.
