How to quickly erase and format your Mac's hard drive

This is only to erase the hard drive on an Intel-based Mac.

I recommend that you don't exit the Apple Recovery app after you complete the formatting so you can reinstall the default operating system within Apple Recovery.

For MacBook Pro 2020 it’s shift+option+command+R, THEN choose Wi-Fi/ enter passcode to put it in recovery mode. Command+R refused to work until I did that.

I have a major issue. So I have a 120 gb macbook air out of which 50gb is windows and 70 gb was Mac. Recently I deleted the Mac part cuz I wanted to do software update but when I open it says name:unformatted format:unknown and I can't do anything to it. Please help.
