I was born with a heart murmur but the doctors believe i grew out of it. I still get the occasional hard thump in my chest while at rest and exercise is very tiring for me even just walking around leaves me breathless but i also have issues with my lungs for various reasons that worsened when covid hit. I don't notice the thumps too often since i got out of the military but i was very concerned while i was in. The test came back normal (ekg) because they don't do too many other tests to find the real issue it felt like. I haven't really gone in for it in a while because i very rarely experience it.

I’ve had a heart murmur since I was 10 years old, and I’m now 59. I have Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy or HCM.

Many murmurs ARE nothing serious, but when in doubt, get it checked out!
