I've been watching your videos for a couple of weeks now. Your explanation of the golf swing is so thorough I am continually learning with each session. I wish you were around 30 years ago! Still, you have brought the enjoyment back to the game for me as I work on the lessons. Thank you.

Hi Russell. After your five online lessons this winter and series of videos I am now beginning to see, hear and feel the better strike of the ball as you describe. Keep up the great education work. I am bought in and look forward to the ongoing journey. Bob.

If I could only watch one golf instruction video for the rest of my life it would be this one.The intention to hit a low fade gets me onto my left leg better than anything else...and I hit a lot of greens with this "Pelvis down low fade" intention. Thanks for being you mate!

Thanks Russell, this is one of the best descriptions on how to start the downswing and rotation. Advice to aim the belt buckle down to your left ankle is a great way to avoid early extension. Excellent!

This online content is only going to get more important to golfers over coming weeks. Having a positive focus for your attention and moving your body in a functional manner whilst focussing on it creates movement patterns in your mind, this is so beneficial to physical and mental health. If you get stuck indoors for a period of time, keep moving, keep swinging, stay focussed. We’ll get through this and if we put in the practice we’ll get better together 😊. Thank you Russell.

Something that really worked for me - thinking about the knees "shuttling" (to quote Jack Nicklaus) towards the target. Very hard to extend the right hip whilst doing that.

I broke 80 today! All I did was load into the right side and turn my chest to start the downswing! I hit more good shots then I can ever remember! Your the best buddy! Thank you! 🥃🥃🥃🥃🏌🏼‍♂️⛳️

One of your best videos. Its like you rotate in posture, then to get on plane you do what feels like a little OTT with your hands and arms, not your shoulders. Works pretty well, but when I miss I hit a dead pull. How do I fix those left misses?

Hey Russell, Great video, I had a question about the feel of the downswing. The drills you have suggested are great. My confusion is once we get the feeling of the belt buckle going down( the separation) how do we then seamlessly start rotating the rest of the upper body? Is there any feel for that? Since the first motion of the left hip is to go backwards sort of, and then rotate the upper body they seem like 2 different motions. Also would you say you start applying the force of the downswing after pushing your left hip back? Or before.
Thanks a lot.

Thanks Russell for this consistent good job. With this method, how do you make sure the hands or upper body are in synchronization with the lower body. In theory, I would say we need to think about the trail elbow forward at the same time as the lower body in the transition. but It is in theory for me. What is the reality?(ref tiger woods video with butch harmon, begins the hands first....)

Thanks for that lesson. Keeping my body downward facing has help me a lot

Great video Russell...they say in lag at a certain time in the down swing you apply a couple of pressure points.Would you know what they mean?

“...rotating the lower body first leaving the arms up in the air...”

Try this, but be VERY careful! It was suggested to a golf Pro by another one who is his trainer. Swing to the top and get someone to hold your hands in position, now try to rotate the lower body. Do it slowly and you will feel a build up of elastic potential energy, the like of which you have probably never experienced before. Do NOT try to swing from there, just slowly return back to neutral. I had one go and realised just how many of the muscles involved were not even activated in my normal swing.

So why am I pulling the ball massivly when dropping my right shoulder, hips are moving as you suggest ?

Strange, I was able to swing the club, staying in posture (pelvis facing downward) one day ay the range, and for the first time for as long as I can remember, I was able to hit a low fade. This is the shot that Ive never been able to execute. Trying to go for a low fade as a means to achieve that swing seems like a good advice!

I’m aware of what your saying, but I’m consistently (especially with short irons) hammering the club into the ground, fat.
