The way most people build websites is about to completely change!

The most used page builder, Elementor, and the most used block package, Spectra, will be all based on a new layout system.

If you want to create fast loading websites, that are incredibly lightweight, yet without sacrificing anything, this is great news for you!

The old way of sections, rows, columns is about to be gone. Say hello to Flexbox Containers.

Flex stands for flexible, adaptive.

The 3 main benefits to you are
- More optimized layout
- Reduced DOM size
- Better responsive control

But in just a short time, the most used page builder, Elementor and the most used blocks package, Spectra will be all based on containers.

I really don't know what I'd do without your videos, info, and enthusiasm, Adam. I rarely comment on YouTube but just gotta say this. Thanks for all that you do for us.

So glad I watched this. I missed the Spectra note when I got the email from Brainstorm Force, and I am especially glad to see the Elementor is going to provide that flexbox conversion helper. My first thought on hearing of flexbox's arrival was an internal groan over what will be required to update legacy websites. That button should make it much more manageable.

Thank you Adam for the update.

I have seen containers around and I have been wondering.

Very helpful.

Hi Adam.
What about Kadence Blocks? Do they have a plan? It doesn't have a container block till now. What it has is a Row Layout block which is a combination of Section and Column. That's very weird, because almost every other block plugin has a container block.

Exciting! Can't wait to edit my website with this new feature. I use Elementor as the main website builder.

Thank you Adam for sharing cool things we’re building at Spectra. Though it’s still in the development, we can’t wait to release it 🚀

Thanks for sharing. I was about to give a facelift to my Elemontor-built website. So, I will wait for the release before I start.

While I do agree that this is a great thing for Elementor and Gutenberg, they are still pretty late to the game! For both, Flexbox and CSS Grid should have been embedded for a couple of years now (at least). Thank you for bringing this to the attention of your audience who still use Elementor or Gutenberg. I left Elementor behind quite a while ago, but I occasionally use Gutenberg to quickly flesh out a WP site during its first draft. I always appreciate your videos and insight!

This is awesome. I use Elementor and Gutenberg a lot now. It's going to be great to watch all the time spent on padding and spacing fade away. Great video, too!

I always get skeptical when they talk about load speed... but Adam, you do a wonderful job of explaining these things. Thank you. Shared with my clients.

Thanks for confirming that there are speed benefits that come with the change to flexbox. Haven't heard many people touch on this.

This is so great and finally something that will improve the overall website and not just a design. I personally use Gutenberg for its simplicity and speed. And with features or should I say updates like these, it will just add so much more options to play with and it will probably make the whole process so much more fun.

Thanks for the great video. One question, though: How can I place two buttons side by side with containers? The trick that works with columns doesn’t work here.

Yay, happy it will be changed, now I can use Elementor again without a doubt. Thank you for your Content!

Thanks this is great information and I am really excited for this to come out with Elementor and hopefully see a page load reduction without having to use columns or inner columns.

I use both Elementor and Divi as a Web Designer. It will be interesting to see if Divi will bring a Flexbox approach to their builder, too - the ball is in their court. But it's great to see Elementor getting closer to acting like actual CSS. It will undoubtedly influence which builder I'm going to use on projects.
