I don't think that a "Dorffest" must be in Fall lol It translates to village party and i think every village can do their party whenever they like. For example the Dorffest from the village i am from always was in July.
I dont know about the stealing of the Kerwestrauss tradition, but what is popular here is the stealing of the maytree.
